Downspout Strainers

Larger downspout strainer prevents clogs

Downspouts often overflow because the downspouts are plugged. Installing downspout strainers keep larger objects from plugging the downspouts early enabling you to go longer between the time that you clean gutters. They keep walnut shells, peanut shells, leaves, twigs and such from plugging your downspouts.

If you have gutter guards installed, you will not need downspout strainers.

Squirrels are known to allow walnut shells and other objects to fall into gutters and cause the downspouts to plug at the top. Downspout strainers will hold walnut shells back from the downspout opening and allow rainwater to properly empty from the gutter.
