Karin Edwards - Rolfing
http://www.portlandrolfer.com/
I was sideswiped in a car accident, rear-ended etc and my neck and back pain would diminish with a massage, but would always come back under stress. My dad recommended I try Rolfing and recommended Karin Edwards. I called my insurance agency that was handling the car claim and told them that massage and chiropractic work just wasn't cutting it for me. I asked them about Rolfing (which they didn't know what is was) and they said they would cover it. I talked with my chiropractor and they reluctantly said that a few sessions might be OK but that it wasn't for everyone. I talked to Karin on the phone and hesitantly showed up, nervous about my body being restructured. After the first session, I was more relaxed and felt better. After the 8th session, I felt great and I knew my body was changed for the better. My neck pain completely went away (yippee!). Since I was feeling so much better, it dawned on me why my chiropractor was reluctant to talk about it. Rolfing was a cure for my neck and back scar tissure. Rolfing worked for me and didn't require so many repeat sessions chiro sessions which only made me feel better for only so much for a limited time. I've got a much better posture and less muscle tension and pain after hard work since the Rolfing sessions. I never had any idea that rolfing or integration (not the math) was available until my dad told me about it. If you've had massage or chiropractor work for a neck injury or car accident and it hasn't fixed it for you, I highly recommend you check out rolfing. If you live around Portland, I've had great experience with Karin Edwards. Her website is very informative and can tell you what it's all about. Every session was worth every penny if the insurance hadn't covered it. It has really helped me feel physically better on a permanent basis. Please let her know that I refered you. By the way, I think chiropractic work has it's place, but it sure doesn't take the place of Rolfing!
